Resort Complex
Large-capacity air-to-water heat pump deployment, focusing on high-efficiency thermal management and direct-to-site container consolidation.
Project Background & Scope
This 32,000 sq.m luxury resort complex in Dubai features multiple independent guest wings, extensive spa facilities, and outdoor recreational pools. The core requirement was to establish a unified thermal management infrastructure capable of simultaneously handling high-demand ambient cooling and consistent domestic hot water generation.
A critical factor in this deployment was the coastal desert environment. The equipment needed to withstand high salinity, extreme ambient temperatures, and fine sand particulate exposure without significant degradation in Coefficient of Performance (COP).
Engineering Bottlenecks
- Corrosive Environment: Standard condenser fins degrade rapidly under coastal high-salinity conditions in the UAE.
- Peak Load Variance: Extreme shifts between daytime cooling demands and evening domestic hot water usage require dynamic compressor cycling.
Implemented Solutions
- Specialized Coating: Units were factory-treated with Gold Fin anti-corrosion epoxy and sealed electrical control boxes (IP54).
- Modular Sequencing: Configured 85 modules into cascaded arrays, allowing automated load-shedding and staggered start-ups to optimize energy draw.
Container Consolidation & Logistics
Moving 85 large-capacity commercial heat pump modules requires precise supply chain orchestration. To eliminate intermediate warehousing costs and reduce handling risks, a direct factory-to-site container consolidation strategy was executed.
- Consolidation: All main units, buffer tanks, and installation accessories packed collectively.
- Direct Shipping: Point-to-point sea freight from manufacturing base directly to Jebel Ali Port.
- Phased Delivery: Containers dispatched in three distinct phases matching the contractor's on-site installation timeline.
